My game freezes when I try to play single player, and create an online account

Today I got Battlefield 2 for my computer, and I installed it and all, and everything loads up fine, but when I tried making an online account, it sat there creating an account for like 5+ minutes, the "2" symbol was still spinning though. Then, I turned off my computer, and tried the single player, and it just sat there forever again, so I turned off my computer once more. I bought the BF2: Delux Edition and here are my specs:

    2.8 ghx Intel Celeron Processor
    1.5 GB ram
    Radeon x1300 256MB PCI Card
    80 gb HDD

Can someone please help me out here? Do I need a patch or something? Does it just take a long time? Thanks!

      You need the 1.41 patch.

Yeh it sounds like the connection is being blocked. U need to configure your firewall to enable BF2 to use the net.

He nailed it. Either configure your firewall to let BF2 through (in both directions) or turn it off.
