So it's Christmas, YAY
I got a new computer, YAY
I lost my manual with the 25 digit installation key, BOO

Is there anyway to trace the key that I have installed on my old computer? Or is there a way I can get it without haveing to spend money? Was really dissapointed when I found out I couldn't play battlefield 2 on my new 22in widescreen LCD monitor :cry:

Always keep the booklet in your case.
I dont think you can though. Buy a new copy I guess.

if it is still installed on the original computer you can do this

click start / all programs / EA Games / Battlefield 2 / Register this product

once you have registered the product log in to your account @ EA Under My games you will see the CD key for BF2

or if you already registered the game log into your EA account Under My games you will see the CD key for BF2

yeah that dont work if you patched with 1.3 or was it 1.12 cant remember but one of the patches encoded the cd key

Yeah I just looked into that a little more and saw that... it's 1.3 by the way..

have your cd/dvd handy and they will tell you it over the phone(actually its a new one as all the codes printed on the discs are the same)

At least you can get BF2 and SF bundle now-a-days for half of what most payed for them... :laugh:

patch list: 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.10 (only installed by SF), 1.12, 1.20, 1.21, 1.22, 1.30, 1.40, 1.41

Besides saving the original booklet, put your CD keys in a text file and keep copies offline on CDs. For BF2, make a backup of the registry key after your initial install before installing any patches.

Woops.. and yeah I keep a log of all my CD keys for all my games and apps on a network drive i case of such an event.. now that I know EA will give out cd keys just for telling them some info about the discs I feel ripped off.. I could've borrowed my friends discs, got a key then ran the game with the little image from GamyCopyWorld.

EDIT: Yeah, only reason I feel ripped off is because EA wont fix any bugs.. I'd gladly pay for this great game if they actually fixed the problems.
