    Sound Card

    Does a old sound card(never updated) effect the performance of BF2?
    Does even having a sound card make BF2 perform better?
    If i look for a sound card in a computer store, What should i look for?
    Do all sound cards have the same performance?

    Sometimes in BF2 my sound sounds a bit choppy sometimes.

      Yes, an old old card or a card with a wrong or old driver can cause issues in BF2.

      Yes. A good sound card with a good driver helps the game Rock.

      Personal suggestion? An Audigy or Audigy2. There are variations of this card. Find one that suits your own tastes.

      Of course not. Some cards are really high end for 24 bit recording and are for serious sound people. Others will have more than enough for the average Joe playing the average game and cost a below average price. You don't need the big-bad of all sound cards to have a good game of BF2.

              If you find a specific card and want people to give you opinions on it, this forum is totally the right place to post make and cost and get honest if not somewhat brutal feedback

                      From what I read on it at the Creative Labs site, totally. Looks like one of those cards that is for the amateur to semi-pro music buff. For any audio, I've always been a Creative Labs sound blaster biggot. Aureal and others had small inroads to the sound world, but Creative Labs has stood up to the test of time.

                      To be totally stereotypical, The first time Christmas gamer usually needs a card that is cheap and can be plugged in and forgotten. For them, this card would be overkill, three times the cost of a card that would do them and never utilized to it's potential. In fact, it's options may hinder its owners from playing music to gaming if they cant' figure out it has a control panel of its own.
