Merry Christmas!

I just received BF2 with Special Forces for a gift and I cannot get it to install. It hangs up on CD3 right at "object_client.zip", it just freezes with no error messages? How do I get this to finish?

Make sure the disk is clean. Make sure you are not running virus detectors and you are on the internet. Make sure you are using Internet Explorer and not Firefox while doing this. You can always switch back to firefox after installation.

Copy the discs to the HDD with an image tool (such as Alcohol 120%) and use Daemon Tools to mount them one by one. And upgrade your RAM, you usually get installation CRC errors when you don't have enough RAM (copying to HDD helps somehow).

Ok, great! Thanks for the tips. I am running Firefox, so I need to uninstall it temporarly? My RAM is plenty, shouldnt be an issue. If I am still having problems, I will make iso's and load with Daemon.

No, not uninstall.

Go to START and get properties. Click CUSTOMIZE button next to start menu and change default browser from Firefox to IE. Both should be available in the pulldown menu.

goto start, run type dxdiag hit ok, and then on the first tab copy everything is said here.
