hey guys i got the booster pack for christmas and i am trying tor egister it but it says i need to enter a prepaid code i have no idea what that is so i put in the only letter number combination i could find on the box. then it gives an error saying "Please enter a valid promotional code." wtf is that

ermmm... Did you buy the game via EA link or in a box?

the only time you need a prepaid code is when you have downloaded it through EA link.

Exactly so. Try a reinstall with the disks. Make sure you are using IE as your default browser if you currently are using Firefox. You can switch back after the install if you wish.

i am using ie as default and it works but it doesnt put icons on my desktop all i can do is when i go into bf2 and look for servers i can join a server that is running maps in the bosoter pack but i cant do any specific searches for the maps. is that the way it is? is it supposed to put icons on my desktop? i bought it in the box from best buy

There are no icons. The maps are accessed through normal BF2

Correct, it is just six new maps on vanilla. Want to find some maps easily?

I believe the "prepaid code" is also the code you get with the boxed version (which I also have). At least that's what I entered when I registered and it didn't reject it.

ok well if there arent icons than i guess im good to go cuz thats how i have been accessing them is through the vanilla version

in the box, theres two clips holding in a piece of paper and youll see something like
XB4TY-7H3DX- and so forth. type it in exactly how you see it on the install promo code screen.

Install it, then go to ea.com and login to the account you registered BF2 on. Go into the "My Account" section and click on the "My Games" tab. There is an area there where you can register a game. Select "PC and Mac" from the drop down, then the next drop down will become active, so select "Battlefield 2 Booster Packs Collection". Click on the "Register Game >>" button, then enter the CD-Key (printed on back of instruction manual). You should be taken back to your "My Games" tab, if not, go there now. The booster pack should be listed under your games with the CD-Key below it.


NOTE: It might take a while before it's "recognized" by EA. When you try to go play a EF map it might throw a dialogue box at you saying something along the lines of "you must buy this before you are able to play it". If that happens, just wait a while, it will eventually let you play. I had to wait about a week before it finally let me play, but now I'm playing almost every day on at least one AF or EF map.
