Hmm, I know this is offtopic, I know I might be breaking a rule here, but I can't help to defend the country I reside in.

America, is using a small force in Iraq, compared to what we can really use.

We are looking for one man, in a stretch of thousands of miles of mountains and caves.

The U.S has one of the greatest military powers, in the world, we could take over the whole middle east within months if we truely wanted to, we are currently only using a small fraction of the force we are cabable of in Iraq.

We're dieing while trying(sp?) to find him? Well no f*cking duh, it is a war.

Now lets do the math
The U.S has 3,000 casualities about, the Insurgents have uhm..whats that?!?!?! 30,000+

I'm mother f*cking proud to live in America, America is a democracy, and a good one at that, yes, the justice and goverment system is somewhat corrupt, but every system is, at least we don't get shot in the back of the head and have our families starved if we don't vote for the "Right" person.


*EDIT* After reading some former post, I feel the need I need to say more.

This is NOT a war we can't win, but it is a DIFFICULT war that we will fight.

The terrorist outnumber us, but for every american corpse, there will be about 50 terrorist corpses to avenge him.

We currently have a very small fraction of casulties compared to the Insurgency, yes, they have another 5 Guys waiting to take place of a fallen insurgent, but eventually, we will get the job done.

We got Al-Zaquari
We recently got a top Taliban leader, an associate(sp?_ of Bin Laden)
We WILL find Bin Laden, and he WILL be punished for the things hes done.


As someone else mentioned before, like any other country could do better, Yes, we're not doing so good in the war right now objective wise, but casualty wise, we are. This was with Rumsfeld, and with Gates now in office, I expect sme good changes to come.

Sorry mods for going off topic, but I couldn't help it, I'm not going to let someone badmouth my country.

Oh boy, I could go on and on, but I'll leave it at that, simple, I'm proud to be an American.

I agree with Soldier. If the United States actually took off its gloves and threw the global altruism out the ****ing window, we would have already won, regardless of the reasons we're over there.

The only reason we have not secured a full victory is politics. If politics took a backseat, we would have rounded up all the people in these cities, searched them, stuck em in internment camps in the middle of nowhere, where visibility stretches for miles around, and declared the urban areas free-fire zones, killing anything that moved and saving our own asses for once.

Of course, the real root of this problem is religion. ****ing zealots.

We are not fighting a war we can't win, as I said before, its just a difficult war.

We're doing relativley decent with only a fraction of our force in Iraq, if wanted to use brute force, we could, but we can't, due to the mass amount of civilians in Iraq, so we're playing it pretty safe, and thus, not being too effective, but still being effective.

News channels/papers only like to publish the bad thing.

But there are good things going on in Iraq, and we are making proggress, its slow, but its proggress.

Women can now go to school
Women can now walk down the street without worrieing about being tortured
Women can walk freely without a man
Children are going to school
Schools are being established

Although, it may not be a democratic country yet, it is making proggress, and moving towards the greater good, and we are eliminating Insurgents by the minute, if you do the math, theres about 10+ Insurgent casualties for ever 1 U.S casualty.

Eventually, the Insurgent will weaken, and if the U.S needs to use brute force, chances are, we will, we're not pansies, we have high-tech weapon warfare, and greatly trained soldiers, and we're not afraid o use them.

Whether you see it or not, the U.S is making proggress, very slowly, though.

Of course, the bad statistics were mainly noticable when Rumsfeld with office, Gates has just entered office, Rumsfeld tried to hide the bad situation in Iraq, Gates doesn't hide it, which is a good thing, hes making the country aware of whats happening, mistakes, and I definitly expect good changes with Robert Gates as the new Secritary of Defence, and with Bush reviewing new strategies in Iraq. The situation isn't too good, but we are making very gradual proggress, if we can find Al-Zaquari, and Sadam, we can find Osama. We might be losing in some ways, but we are still making very gradual progress. As I said before, I will say it again, with a new Secratary(sp?) of Defence in office, expect some changes to be made, and some good changes at that.

I agree with wheelman.. the US is trying to police the world thinking that they are the best.. alone, they are the best, yes. But if the mid east stands together they are very strong and you should not underminate them.

The US could never take over the mid east within a couple of months.
That is simply impossible.

If the US really could that, then why haven't they done it yet?!
How long time have they been in Iraq?! 4-5 years?!

It is right that all this is because of religion. Religion is bull****.

They take prisoners and torture them.
They are no better than then Insurgents.

I know that good things is happening in Iraq, but not only beacause of the US.
Typical, they take the honor. The US have many supporting countries.
Don't forget them.
I know that they are making progress.

The trained soldiers: they don't help. Of course it is fine with trained soldiers, but sometimes it doesn't help, cause the Insurgents are BRUTAL!

The good, modern weapons: they don't help. Of course it is fine with good, modern weapons, but sometimes it doesn't help, cause the Insurgents are BRUTAL!

And civilian casualties is unacceptable, so they can't bomb the whole sh*t.

I guess that it will be no better than it already is, cause the US wont let any casualties.
If they want to win a war without letting casualties, call for Gandhi cause they can't find out themselves.
The only thing americans can is: see a man, kill him.


Lets just face it:


Bush is a lousy president that only does what his selfish ego tells him.
