Okay, here's the deal;
I have the stock P4 2.4ghz (478) laying around somewhere and will use it I have to, I cant find the 3.2 p4 on newegg(I trust newegg, if you know of anyother trustworthy online merches let me know!!!)... so I was looking at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116175

Will I notice a difference(Please state degree of difference if you can) between that processor and the 2.4 i already have?

Okay, so what do you think the best 478pin processor for gaming is?

The 3Ghz cpu will be a world of a difference over that crapy 2.4Ghz one.

I run bf 2 on 1280x1024 and on high settings no aa

The 3Ghz cpu will be a world of a difference over that crapy 2.4Ghz one.

Long story, I have a dell(BIOS version is not overclockable), so I flashed the BIOS, OCed it to 3.4. Started windows, loggged on and after 10 seconds the system froze, went blank. It's a gonner, My friend says its because i improperly mounted the heatsink but i know its right.


you know of any good 478 systems?

Improperly mounting the heatsink will NOT fry your CPU, all it does is make the PC shut off when it gets anywhere near hot enough to do damage. You could try a new BIOS chip...

How about you don't waste all the money upgrading right now and jsut enjoy BF2 with a few, like 1 or 2, settings turned to medium. If your alright with 40fps on average, then by the damn game. Have fun, don't worry about superior preformance
