Will my system run high graphics!?

    Hi,
I havent bought BF2 yet, but have played it many times at a lan center.

My question is; would my system be able to run BF2 on high graphics with AA 2x and 1024x768 Res?

    The system:
    -Intel Pentium 4 Prescott 3.2Ghz (478socket)
    -nVidia XFX GeForce 7600GS 512MB (AGP4x)
    -SAMSUNG 1gig 184-Pin RDRAM PC800 (rambus)
-Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz
    -XG Vigor 450watt power supply

    Thank-you!

will run high but will need 2gb of ram to make things smoother.

rambus?!? thats quite an old system then- it should be ok on 1024x768 but perhaps no 2xaa.

the video card isnt as powerful as its brother, the 7600gt, but u mite be able to get away with it. the ram def is not enuff...ull experience some stuttering at the beginning of the round and occasionally during the round

The real answer is "try it and see". :p

Different people have different standards - for example, some "need" >30fps before they find it playable. And it's very hard to tell the optimum settings just from the pc stats. The only potential problem with that setup would be the amount of RAM, as Mad Ad said. Upgrade that a bit, and high settings won't be a problem at all.

Just about. Expect a 40-50fps average.

Hope you're going to buy it for him,

$210.00/512 mb stick, and must be run in pairs.

And everyone thinks DDR/DDR2 is expensive.

I checked newegg and I don't think they have an AGP 7600GT, I think 7600GS is the highest nvidia agp card. Would the 7600gs perform better than an ATI x1650 512mb?

How about you don't waste all the money upgrading right now and jsut enjoy BF2 with a few, like 1 or 2, settings turned to medium. If your alright with 40fps on average, then by the damn game. Have fun, don't worry about superior preformance

                    This is a 7600GT AGP: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150210
I would get that, it will be better than the 7600GS. A little pricey though.

If you want to stick with a 7600GS, go with this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130076

Do they make a 7600gt with 512MB of ram? Does this even matter? Whats the memory clock speed of the 7600GT?

and is this a good card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161005

512mb on a card like that is just a waste of money. The card cannot utilise that much.

The 7600GS is about the same as a X1600pro. The 7600GT is better. Use the links i provided above for a 7600GS and GT.

If you want a X1600 pro get this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102040

Personally, i would go for the 7600GS.

                        UPDATE: Get this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143046
It's a 7800GS, it is the 2nd best AGP card out now. That is a great price for such a powerful card. The card i capable of running BF2 maxed out, but you will have to turn a couple settings down since you only have 1gb of ram.

                          Okay,
                          wait so:
7600GT > 7800 GS > 7600 GS > x1600pro... You say the 7800GS is the 2nd best agp card, im taking you mean the 7600GT is the best

If so Ill get the 7600 GT. :]

                            No, it goes X1950 pro > 7800GS > 7600GT > X1650 pro > X1600 pro = 7600GS and so forth.

The X1950 pro has not come out in the US so thats why i didnt mention it. I would still go with that 7800GS.
