My system seems to not be running as it should....

    Hi

BF2 is basically unplayable with 15-20 fps on EVERYTHING LOW 800 by 600 resolution and yet I still get 15-20 FPS? This makes me think somethings wrong.
My system specs are: Nvidia 6600 256mb
    Pentium 4 3.0GHZ
    1gb RAM

I think thats it....So i play with EVERYTHING low 800 by 600 res looks completly ****E and i get 15-20 fps no joke complete BS. I was playing (Only because I was in a fun talkative squad) and after the next round started I had 60 fps then dropped to 50,40, 30 and 20 I was hella confused and it stayed like that for about 10 minutes I have no other programs open (I recently found out that Windows Media Player completly jacks your fps to 1 lol) I close everything I can even xfire, but no use. When I turn on the computer I get this error at start up it says "Your video card is not getting suffecient power" or something like that and it says it has toned down its performance to stop overheating, if you really want I could get the exact error and tell you guys.

Any chance I can get good fps with 1024 res and everything low?

    Probably not with that card.

Here are some optimization ideas. Do them if you are comfortable.

Buy a new PSU. 1GB of RAM is not enough. You NEED a new PSU. Get one with a hundred watts or more than your current one. RTFM.

I can see you getting shot at a US checkpoint somewhere. "DO NOT MOVE OR YOU WILL BE SHOT" - *Logs into Total BF2 to ask what he should do* - *Gunfire*

we cant narrow it down to a PSU issue until he tells us what power supply he has

lol what the hell, your still asking whats wrong when you get a system error saying your GPU isnt getting sufficient power? either your PSU is gone bad and/or its regulating power improperly to your gpu so I think you need a new psu definately..did you buy your comp from some OEM? you should check if you still have a warranty with them...

Does your card have a power connector on it, and is it plugged into the power supply? Looks just like this,

Sucks to be you, Thanks god my parents dont care wtf i do with my comp.

First day i bought it, i didnt care about warranty, i just hooked it up with all this gaming hardware and stuff... lol

I think if your parents are not going to let you open it, then your probably not going to resolve your FPS problem until ur warranty is over.

I have also have a 256 MB GFX card, and a 1GB RAM and get around 15-20 fps, i know how you feel. I was told to get more RAM for my comp to get the right FPS i should get, But that requires you to open your comp also. But it looks like im not the only one having this problem also.

So like i said, almost all your options are required for a comp opening.

                    Good Luck

I seen my brother inlaw use a program that analyzes your entire system and tell you if something isnt working right, not compatible, or insufficient, sorta like a diagnostic machine for your car
Im supposed to see him sometime tomorrow so I'll ask him what it is and let you know

Well, phone up the warranty people, and bend over so tech support can rape your tight wallet VERY hard.

Or you could just void the useless warranty (let's face it, those guys in India know about as much about computers as they do about astrophysics), and do it our way.

Definitely a PSU problem, get a new one.

You can go suck a fat one, I have never used these forums to ask a question, and when my system isnt running as it should, I ask to see if anyone may know the problem. Now if your precious adored battle field 2 suddenly screws up, doesnt work and you payed for it and you went to these forums to ask whats the matter, and people give you cheek like that? I would think you would get pissed at them, since i'm not busy right now I feel like letting you know I don't appreciate it and you wouldnt either, so **** OFF, sorry but it had to be said.
