It says 1s on those maps. Does that mean I would have to play or win once on those maps?

It just means 1 second. i.e. as soon as you play all the maps in that theater you get the ribbon. The NorthAm ribbon apparently has some unknown extra requirement; I have played all three AF maps and have plenty of hours in the "USMC theater" but no ribbon yet.

although its 1 second you have to complete the round for it to register, dont forget that

25 Hours global on US Theater

I have almost 200 hours as USMC and the 25h requirement is checked as being met on bf2s. They also show "IAR: unknown" as a requirement.

I usally play that round and then I get off the map when I went for those ribbons otherwise it just means 1 second.

American Theater is specifically only the time spent on the maps Harvest / Road Rage / Midnight sun. Either side of the map, but a total of 25 hours.

Some say you actually have to play a complete round on each map but I have not seen someone who has spent 25 hours who hasn't completed each map several times.
