I disabled my Page File, and i see no difference in Bf2, i would still sometimes lag.

Something wrong?

how much ram do u have? disabling pagefile isnt hte best idea if u dont have alot of ram because when u pass ur peak, ur computer will be really slow i believe (From wat i heard)

The pagefile alone can possibly help some people when it is removed IF it is hindering your performance. Your's probably wasn't.

1024mb ram is not enough to run the game without a pagefile. In fact, im surprised you haven't had any crashes yet!

As for other possibilities with a high ping, try turning off any background tasks such as virus checking or MSN (Basically, anything that is processor or bandwidth intensive). This may not affect you, but i had very poor performance for about a year (Pings of about 250), until i opened up all the ports on my router that are advised in the back of the BF2 booklet. You can try that but it may not make a difference.

Disabling the page file is a bad idea.

If you have lots of RAM, then it can speed things up, but not when running system intensive programs like BF2. It's worth doing if you're only using programs like MSN, web browsing, office apps, etc. But for games the page file is really a necessity. However much RAM you have. Even if you have 2GB, you should still keep the page file. It's there for a reason, and disabling it can cause problems.

And... trying to run bf2 and expecting good performance with only 1GB of available memory (ram and page file) is simply ludicrous.

Disabling your Paging file does nothing, I recommend setting it back to default or else you will start to get kicked out of servers by PB.

Not completely true,

Disabling the pagefile and re-enabling it allows the system to start fresh with a defragmented page file (in case it was for any reason fragmented).

Yes. But disabling it and keeping it disabled is (normally) not a good idea.

You can also get tools that will defrag a page file on windows startup iirc.

Disabling the pagefile is proven to never be a good idea, even with a lot of RAM. With 1GB it's even impossible to do when using bigger programs. With 2GB it's possible, but it doesn't improve anything. People claim that it improves the performance from 4GB and up, but even that isn't proved yet.
