As many posts - and seemingly players' preference - are for USMC, I'd like to add my thruppence on healthy alternatives - i.e. MEC. Naturally, the notion that the Arab nations would ever successfully combine to do anything other than try to push Israel into the sea (3rd time lucky boys!), is a nonsense, but what the hades, is only a game, right?
'Spoiler' spolier warning: nothing coming FEDEX from Mount Parnassus, but a contribution nevertheless. More like epistles to the apostles.
OK! LET"S ROCK MEC STYLE!
Medic/Assault: that AK74 sounds good, don't it? Packs a harder punch than the USMC M16A2 and has spray n pray for CQB. Even in AUTO mode, three shot bursts can take out many a jarhead at distance. I find these two classes pretty evenly matched, while USMC Assault sucks unless he's the G3.
Sniper: The Dragunov develops the MEC Sniper for both Flag Cappin Assault and Snidey Sniper roles. A good rate of spray for surprise CQB, underrated accuracy, plus ROF assisting accuracy. A headshot's the same with any rifle, hombres. Find a nidey place and pop em with the suppressed pistol - they literally don't know what's hit em. Plus, those little greeting cards at flags wind the 'flag defend' points up. Crank it!
Engineer: Face it, the USMC standard shotgun (Ithaca?), sucks Big Max thru a straw. Meanwhile, MEC Eng has all the other engineer treats, and a usable boltcaster.
Now here's where I admit I don't use the other classes hardly any very much at all - vubec nic! Any contributions on them is welcomed - the hoummous is on me!
Maps
As I usually play INF maps. That's all I got to say. There's plenty of good stuff already, but nevertheless, here's a sprinkle of cinammon on top.
Karkand:
USMC have three options:[LIST=1][*]Charge n nade their way to the Hotel. A great time for MEC Medics, nade spammers and Support.[*]Head for Suburb. Defence strategy: I find claymores good back up for missed jarheads. Place em at that little house at the foot of the hill the USMC come slippin and a slidin - an playin dominoes, thanx my redoubtable rifle. Shukrun!OR they head for the Square. Same difference.[*]Slip down the hill and run like roaches alongside the wall. They've a variety of flags to cap. Defence strategy: Mine the path between wall and 'deserter zone', and guard the corner where the wall faces on to the derailed trains.[LIST]
Jalalabad:
There are smore variations on this than Paul McCartney's 'Yesterday'. There's a load of knowledge out there on this - cos we can't get enough of Jal, right? People play this one HARD!
Mashtuur:
As per Karkand and Jalal, just a coupla sliced lemon pointers. How refreshing!
And, like the glutton looking sadly at the crumbs left on the table, with all the sauce mopped from the plate with fresh pitta, we have to face the sad news - that's it.
Hope you enjoyed it! I look forward to your replies.

- So, in brief, I'd just like to flag up, so to speak, that lovely nest of low buildings between the Market and Hotel. You'd be surprised (I have this on empirical evidence!) how USMC fail to take stock of how bullet friendly they are.
- There's all the noobs in the choke points to collect, plus those noobs who insist on the Hotel roof, snipers' alley along the routes between Market/Mosque and Hotel/Junkyard, and even a few sneaky buggers coming round back to take the Mosque.
- I actually prefer USMC to take the Lake flag, as this allows MEC more spawn and defence points, crerating a real killin floor when they wade the river. ALl that noobin to kill em on their uncappable flag is snuff up my nose.

- Strangely, if you're prone at the top of the steps from the river to the Mosque, you're in a good position for reapage.
- Take command of all flags on the Mosque side, blow the bridges, and defend the dry-riverbeds at either end. It's like shootin Borat in a barrel! (IF only my team would do this when I ask em nicely as Commander...
)
