There is a seperate ranking system called ABR which sits alongside vBF2's ranking system. You can gain ranks and medals galore and feel happy with yourself as in the vanilla version.

When you first play on a server that has ranking enabled, yes. It's automatic, you don't have to do anything.

it basicly works the same way as the vanilla ranking, apart from there are no crappy unlocks and ppl dont take it so seriously they go stat padding etc. Its only really there for ppl who want to track there stats :)
