Need assistance reinstalling BF2.

One of our clan members is having issues with re-installing BF2.

He un-installed and then tried to re-install. That failed, so I found a link in the EA support forums which walked him through doing a manual removal including removing the registry entries. That has been done, but now on install he gets a message that says "unable to determine current version" then the install aborts.

Is is possible that something was missed on the manual removal? Any suggestions?

Sorry, sounds like you've got digital crud in your registry.

On the bright side, your worst-case scenario is a format and Windows re-install, giving your friend a fresh "new" system to play with.
