Server Policy Not to Punish Team Kills, Against ROE?

I'm playing the Daqing Oilfields map trying to capture control points. A "friendly" jet keeps strafing the flag area, dropping bombs and teamkilling me. I look around for enemies and don't see any in my immediate area. So, I punish him for team killing. He jumps on his microphone and yells at me telling me it is server policy not to punish for team kills. He also curses at me. Looks like I'm gonna turn VOIP back off.

Anyway, my question is: can a ranked server make a policy not to punish for
teamkills thus allowing jet pilots to bomb indescriminately? It seems like a form of stat padding to me.

i agree......i see it alot too.....

i also see servers warning not to initiate, or vote in a kick vote, and not to mutiny clan members....i dont agree with this

i think its kinda like stat padding....kinda ghey.....but i really dont care anymore...

I don't really see how it's stat padding because they are still loosing points for the TK and they are getting TK's added on to there stats.

well he looses points for tk'ing you and you decide to punish him ontop of that so you can get him kicked from the server. thats what punishing is... to get a player kicked.

It's simple: admins don't want to play the same game we are, so they make up some rules to nullify/circumvent the game mechanics in an effort to increase their performance artificially or avoid being punished for their own stupidity. They're just pu*sies...

I don't think there's anything in the ROE that says you can't kick assholes for being assholes. If you were trying to snipe the tank that I just bombed and you punish me, you get a special spot in hell.

2.2.3 TK Punish must be active (i.e. not “off”), but can be set to automatically punish or to allow players to punish/forgive by voting.
tk punish is their right, whether they deserved to be punished or not.

I dont know of any rule that would give the server admin the ability to kick for a person punishing too much..

Well, it keeps happening anyway. It's great that we have a reporting system for these scrotum tuckers, but it's utterly pointless if they don't lose their servers or admin rights. It's akin to reporting crimes and having the police bring the evidence to judges, only for the latter to throw out the case...

                  ... oh, wait. O_o;

I don't think that their aim is to make the life of pilots easier ... its just to try to stop the punishing for the "I ran into a street, got run over by a car and punish the driver for not being able to stop" and the "you must have seen me running from behind you when you threw the grenade, so its your fault I got blown up" cases.

probably as bad as making the victim the judge of wether he was tk'ed intentionally or not..

                        9/10 times they punish.

just be thankful im not a bf2 admin on a FF ON server, i would ban on the spot for any punished tk's that were accidental or forced :)

People that force tk should be banned reguardless of punish or not IMO.

I think most of the auto-punishers would also punish when an enemy killed them and they had the opportunity ... I think that most of them are too young to look at it from the traffic point of view where "oops" and "i didn't mean to" doesn't count so it must be something else.

Or at least receive the BF2 Darwin award if they "forced" the TK out of their own stupidit.
