Launch BF2, but it dosn't come up?

It launches, but doesn't allow you to switch to it. Its in the background task running normal, just not up on the screen? I have the desktop and everthing there is running normal also. Its running on a Core 2 Duo and was running normal up until yesterday when it just started doing this after a defrag. I formatted the HD and reinstalled everything, because I thought maybe defrag caused an error, but still nothing. Its a 200GB HD SATA @ 4200rpm, could it be that the HD is going bad or that the damn thing is just to damn slow?

Its a Toshiba Notebook Satellite P105-S9722: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 @ 2.0Ghz, 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 667 Geforce Go 7900GS 256MB dedicated memory and HD Audio. I can play BF2 and 2142 on all high smoothly, normally, also BF2142 still works fine?!?

edit: seems to have something to do with 1.41 patch since before patch I can play.

Tried setting the screen res and refresh rates to default?

fixed it, last night U had an idea when I read another post regarding someone not getting an LCD to work, tried my own advice and it worked. All I did was delete my BF2 directory in the my documents folder.
