Well i was playing wake today anda chinese guy stole on of our f35s so i hopped in the essex expecting him to come back like he did, when he came back i got a lock fired 2 missles and killled him, this just proves how messed up the f35 is on hit boxes, because the eneemy pilot was doing crazy looops and i killed him with 2 missles while we all know 8 misssles against a j10 usually doesnt do squat against it.
Essex aint bad, at least against the f35.

Yea its such a pain...you'd think a mounted essex gun could take it out ALONE but even a below average pilot will take out the essex gun before you even fire off your missles...though the key in downing a J-10 is using the cannon.Originally posted by 7manYe when im air deffence I get pwnd by the J-10 in the essexComment

Re: Essex aint bad, at least against the f35.
One thing I do not understand is, when using the Essex gun against the J10, they WILL hit the J10 with no flairs, most of the time. But F35B missles do not hit the J10, why is that? Why can Essex missles hit J10s and F35B missles wont hit J10s :sComment

Cause everything that fires a missles has different missle characteristics.Originally posted by daliupOne thing I do not understand is, when using the Essex gun against the J10, they WILL hit the J10 with no flairs, most of the time. Like the IGLA is different from the Essex, just as much as it is different from A2A missles from specific jets.
That is why SAMs always seem to hit.. they have a wider lock angle. Where as A2A is less.Comment

Ah I see, they should mount an essex on F35B then! hahaha

Or simply add a few degrees in lock cone until the missiles wont have a problem hitting the target.
Increased lock cone, however... means increased teamkills.
So the best answer would be to remake every jets hitbox mesh and reposition the heatsources.Comment

oh, but that would take too much time and effort. why would the developers want to keep people playing bf2? its not like theres still thousands of people playing the game every day... i have almost completely stopped playing regular bf2 servers and i now play infantry only.Originally posted by Chris_RedfieldOr simply add a few degrees in lock cone until the missiles wont have a problem hitting the target.

DICE seems to be doing everything they can to keep and make BF2142 popular. Including sabotage of their own product. This belongs to "silly conspiracy theories" section, but I refuse to believe that a group of talented guys can fvck up something so bad, especially when they themselves have created it!Comment
