    New LCD monitor-BF2 CRASH

Just bought a Sumsung 204B works great, vibrant colors no noticable backlight bleed no flickering. I have it hooked up with DVI cable to leadtek 6600gt running native res 1600x1200x60hertz. IL2 looks and works GREAT!!!! but BF 2 crashes. I get a flickering black screen and the crash I've searched this forum for problems of this sort but no joy to references, I've also set res lower to see if that was it. Anyone have knowledge or info about this I sure could use a little help. Thanks in advance for any help.

                  is it a text file???

ok I changed default to 800x600 still crashes to desktop

ok I changed default to 800x600 still crashes to desktop

ok I've read the entire post and applied the posted changes and still no joy. Gee iI really thought I was gonna plug the damn thing in and play. shoulda known better!

you'll love this: using the bf2 icon it crashes to desktop right after blackscreen. For grins I used the special forces icon and low and behold I'm in it looks awesome with no performance hit now I need to figure out why BF2 icon won't work

Sniper thanks very much for your help. That did the trick as far as the BF2 icon I needed to add a space between the szy and 1200 in the command thread. This is friggin amazing graphics. I'm very impressed it blows the crt away

Just delete your BF2 directory in My Documents, you'll have to set everything up again and retrive your account, but thats generally done the trick everytime I got a new LCD and I'm on my 4th now.

60hz is a killer, can't you set it higher?

60Hz is normal for LCDs, they dont refresh like CRTs do.

60hz is suggested refresh rate for this monitor. It's a completely different experiance from my old dell p1110 crt I'm very pleased with this monitor.

                            Again thanks for the help:salute:
