    Landing Helicopters

So, earlier today, I'm in a transport chopper. I'm playing Gulf of Oman as the US, I have a full load of passengers. I hover over a MEC flag and they all jump out. Now, I want to land so I can get out and reuse the chopper, so I hold down S and the chopper starts to float down to the ground.

At this point an enemy anti-tank sees me. Now, here's what gets me. I'm like 5 feet off the ground, about to land and get out. If I were that anti-tank, I would think, "Hmm, 6 of them, I can't take them all. I'll kill the driver when he gets out and steal his chopper." But of course, what does said anti-tank do?

He shoots a rocket at the chopper.

This doesn't kill me, just makes me aware of where he is, so I land, jump in a vulcan and kill him.

Why do people do stuff like that? Does it not occur to them that they're better off just stealing the chopper, so the enemy doesn't get it? It's happened before where, as a spec ops, I will land the helicopter, get out, run to the nearby enemy tank, and plant C4 on it. He had all the opportunities in the world to shoot me, but instead he blasted away at the helicopter. Why? He could've killed me and, if not stolen the chopper, just left it there so it wouldn't respawn!

Can someone please explain this behavior to me?

For one, they don't think before they act. Secondly, they could easily kill you while you are in the blackhawk or any chopper if they hit in the right place. Thirdly, if they were smart, they would have shot and hid, reloaded and repeated. They also might not have seen the other people...and frankly a lot of players just don't care...if it can give them a point they will rush into the middle of the entire enemy team in an attempt to gain that solidary point lol

Really I think that we all have moments like that were they dont see them and then you think to yourself if I had a GL or a nade I would have got like 5 kills but then by the time you see them there already T-bagging you and saying what a *******.

In the good old days, stealing the Hawk was kind of a mission, and since it was a powerful tool, people actually went very far to get it. Nowadays, who the hell cares if they get it or not. Dead hawk with at least one kill is better than flying it anyway.

Its like robbing the paper wrapper of a candybar from a kid, thinking it will affect either of you...

Why are you even posting this? Its such a dumb question... I meen think this through before you post because the answer may just slap you in the face.
Ok well i guess i might aswell make some pointers.
            i) You do not know the other players situation. they could have been taking to a mate on Teamspeak. Or arguing with their mum about cleaning their room. or on drugs ( ) or just laggin. any of these could distract a player from noticing a squad of enermies or just a pilot, and can cause them to act rashly.
ii) MOST PLAYERS DONT GIVE A **** ABOUT DIEING. Yes it may shock you but most BF2 players wudnt bat an eyelid to save the lives of their Virtual Comrads, as long as they get points to make themselfs look good they will strol into a street of snipers, jump infront of tanks with C4 straped to themselfs, or fire a stray anti tank shot at an empty helo whilst a squad sneaks up behind them. Hell players would even stroll into an area marked for artilary strikes to try capture that flag...
iii) The person may simply not understand what it meens to be hidden. some players ... most players dont concider the smoke trail a AT rocket leaves, or that when they fire a direct one at a vehicle it warns the vehicle. u see we poeple on the form probably are those few who do think about this, it may seem odd too you when sum1 snipes on the top of a roof against the sun and on the skyline (basicly meening they are TOTALY visible when they think they are hard too see). they probably think its very sneaky and a good vantage point anyway cus of the height whilst they pick off other snipers on the rooftops who stand out as much as they do.
u cant assume that everyone thinks and plays the game like you, or as seriously as you. they may not have as good hardware as you. they may not even be of the same mental age as you so dont make a thread askin why people do silly things. its a waste of peoples time reading the thread

There is also a chance that if he blows the helo in proximity, he kills you in the blast, and the wreckage takes out the ground crew.

simple.....its because of the way it is that it is that way....otherwise who the hell knows what would be what or anything at all...the way i see it is.....its always better to just always kinda not always assume this or that or this and that or this but not that, or even that but not this....

They can pretty much snipe you out with it. How do you know he didnt want to kill the chopper and have it explode killing the 6?
