    Re: Bf2 wont load

    It could be running on an unsupported refresh rate, got to;

    C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\video.con

    and change the refresh rate to 60Hz

        DVD drive slows down? Sounds more like some run command isn't being executed properly; regardless of your specs.

                Re: Bf2 wont load

                General problem so general possible fixes.

                1: Defrag your drive
                2: Virus / Spyware scan
                3: Check driver versions for both sound and video equipment
                (possible reinstall for hell of it)
                4: Try 1.41 udate again
                (possible reinstall for hell of it)
                5: Try moving your Battlefield 2 folder out of the My Documents area and letting the game create a new one. WARNING: You will need to know your passwords. You will lose any custom settings to your key bindings. Hence why I said Move and not Delete.
                6: The game requires a good video card. You have that. When the card kicks into gear, its power requirements go up. Your power supply may be running down on its life and not able to support a 100% output any longer. Idiosyncratic problems that have no reason are sometimes attributable to this.
