BF2 splash crash: any fresh ideas :(

hi, please can anyone help with their knowledge
i have searched and tried everything i could find

usual story, when i start BF2 it shows splash screen then goes black then flashes some wierd glitchy pattern then drops to desktop, happens every time.

the BF2 demo runs fine

i've uninstalled and reinstalled several times, installed latest full 1.41 patch, have latest graphic drivers, uninstalled demo first, tried removing movies from the BF2 folder, nothing works. i have run BF2 succesfully before on this computer, here is the spec:

Athlon XP 2600
1 gigabyte DDR ram
GeForce 6600 LE AGP

might be a bit of stuffing around but try uninstalling everything again n just install the game without patching n see if that starts up

yo, could it be a heat problem?---open your computer case, check the insides for any crap and use a vacuum to get it out. try debugging things with ad-aware or spybot--also, when yuo start bf2 on the Ctrl+Alt+Del menu, click proccesses and end some proccesses that you dont need running in the background (they will start up again once you restart your computer)
