I joined the BF2 party fairly late, just before the 1.4 patch. It was well known to others that the J10 was the best jet, so that's what I started off using, why bother using anything else? However, it didn't take me very long to kick the habit, in fact, if I look back at the first account I created, I see 17 hrs USMC and 3 hrs PLA.

I would frequent pre-game servers very often, just looking for some dogfights for fun and practice (this is still some of the most fun IMO). I ran across this guy, cptnkangaroo, not only was he best I'd ever met in jets at the time, fortunately, he was also very good about trying (er...attempting) to "teach" me. I was impressed how good he was with the F35, and when he said something like the J10 is just for non-skilled noobs...that was it. I was converted! :) Now, of course, I fully understand the degree of the imbalance and why he'd say that.

I fly all jets but if im in a j-10 (it happens but i dont wait in a que) i will have a look at the carrier if theres a chance for me to nab a f35b i will, I land that j-10 so the USMC can have it, If evens things up with a f35 and a j-10 per side.

I also find that on the regular servers that I play, when a half-decent pilot grabs a J-10 and starts racking up uninterupted kills, everyone drops the J35B like a hot potato and goes to ground. That leaves the sky wide open for aerial rape.

Even if you are frequently getting shot down in the F-35B, you are still helping your team by tying up the J-10's.

So true. Usually I won't fly when I play with my clan buddies, but sometimes I have to on places like Dalian Plant just to keep the J-10s occupied and off of the helos and armor. I can usually hold my own against the average pilot, but the other night I had to go up against a 3-star and another pilot who were doing an excellent job of flying in tandem. Both in J-10s. I shot down the other guy a few times, and severly damaged the 3-star a few times, but one of them would eventually get on my six when I was attacking the other. That was a long round...

I prefer the MEC/Chinese bombers. I'm to the point now where if I get shot down in a J-10 it's my fault (most of the time); tracking a target too long with another plane behind me, colliding with a plane, etc. The J-10 is just too hard to hit consistently. A simple barrel roll with no flares can easily defeat A2A missile attacks.

The one thing that i hate about the f35b is that when u dumbfire all 6 missiles on a j10, every single one of the missiles will stray and hit a teammate. While on a j10 no matter how hard u evade, the missiles seem to hit u everytime. For me that is. That is why i now fly f35b around 300-400 feet, to avoid from any detection from j10 whores.

I love how it's ALWAYS "J-10 vs F-35." Like do we forget about the F-18's on Fushe Pass for example. And what about the MEC? The Chinese aren't the only team with a good fighter. IMO, J-10 is just as good as any of the ground bases fighters. I always am able to get behind a pilot with my pilot skills and shoot em down.

Kapukluk. People say about the same things when it comes to F35B vs the MiG aswell.

Fact is, once theres a top gun in the MiG, he cannot be shaken*.

J10 vs F18 is like using MiG vs F35B with no missile ammo. Its close, but you have more cannon use opportunities than he does, so use them. And youll smoke them.

Kapukluk the reason talk about J-10/F-35B, is just because alot of the popular maps run those two jets. Wake, and dalian being the most popular.. dragon valley just sucks... cause F-35B's have to worry about J-10's AND mobile AA... And on top of that, you can't see anything.

Sure F-18 may be good, but the J-10 still will beat it in a dogfight if you have two equal pilots. Every time.


F-18 vs. mig is the most balanced it will get imo. Mig has the tighter turning radius and has better speed/afterburners than F-18 by far, while the F-18 can evade missles really good, so the mig can use cannons on the F-18 easily. But when the F-18 is behind mig, they can out turn.... etc.

Probably the best matchup.

IMO though the best jet in the game is the SU-30 (chinese bomber.. I don't know if it's 30.) That thing kicks ***. It's turning radius is close to the J-10 and eurofighter if I remember right, and you can do the cobra pretty easy.

I wouldnt rank the Su30 the best only because its so big and can be smoked with cannons real fast. Other than that, its on par with all the fighters, Ive been saying that for a year LOL.

LOL no I mean overall... because it IS a bomber and it flies like a fighter.


I'm talking for stunts and stuff too.
