    Command is indeed not written up in the BF2 manual with any kind of usefull info.

    There is a formal guide written and put out by Proxima (I believe). It's OK.

    Two of the best guides on command I have seen are at

      And I play commander all the time.

      So why intergrate the mouse wheel in the game but not in the server browser?

          One is a searchable wiki and won't be as up to date as two which is a forum post but not as convenient to search nor skip through.

            Decent guides but I don't think either of them is up to date as they don't have the Vehicle drop option mentioned.

              True, the author went to college this year (first year) and hasn't been gaming.

              Even being slightly dated though, this guide goes into detail on so many facets of command that just are not touched on anywhere. That thread is also loaded with tactical ideas and strategies to learn from.
