Whenever I try to join a server, a message pops up saying "You have an older version than this server." An older version of what? What do I need to do? I've already patched with 1.41, so that is out of the question, unortunately, since that seems to be the answer to every other problem...

Did you patch it with special forces already installed? You might have to re-patch special forces. -

If you see 10 threads asking what is 2 plus 2 don't be surpised that the answer is always 4. The answer doesn't change and neither do the questions.
In your case, if you haven't tried yet one more time to reinstall the complete 1.41 then you will find that EA sometimes requires this patch be applied more than once. Why? Oh snap! Now thats a question that no one can answer but let me try...... Got it.... 4.
