Create a fancy well thought out advertisement post in the section here:http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=245

Also advertise on other sites. Like I said make sure your advertisement took time and explain all details recruiting, rules etc.

Don't go overboard on rules. I have had my own server offically for a bit over a month and we are always populated if not full. Its kind of like opening your own business. Your going to need employees. They're going to need incentives. etc. Get a few people you know and trust to help you out.

Talk with other clans and get them to come in and check it out. For the first day I had it I idled in it and bam it took off from there.


People like populated servers. The ones that are about 12-15 will get it booming.

Like I said- KISS- Keep it simple stupid. Keep rules to a minimum. Language filter I turned my down so you have to drop only a few words to get banned or kicked. Other then that, its your discretion. Make sure all your "workers" know and understand ROE.

Make it fun. Etc...i dunno

What I look for in a good server is a well adminnded one for starters. The admins must also not set double stnadards. I have been in countless circumstances where the admin has spawn killed or base raped and then you do something similar and they kick you. I will never touch a server like this again.

Also, don't set loads of rules. No base rape, no spawn kill, no racial slurs/disrespecting other players. Any more rules than that and i will avoid.

Good PING plays a huge factor. I will only play UK or european servers. Obviously you cannot influance this if you are American or non-European.

Finally, a good map rotation. This of course differs from person to person. I LAG on many of the air maps so like a server that plays something along the lines of this: Strike at karkand, Sharqui peninsula, Mashtuur City, Road to Jalalabd (+ Dalian if its a vechile server) but thats just me. Also, I hate servers that play like one round of a map so you have to keep loading. My load takes me like 5-10 mins and i've joined your server to play, not stare at a load screen.

Love it when Karkand claymore spammers don't know FF is on and start spamming their claymores, makes me laugh - great to play on servers with FF on, only know of one good server with FF on.

Hmm play a popular map and make sure it is not a 24/7 map unless you want it karakand jala or wake and make sure that you have alot of adds on other sites.

Wake? IMHO Any new server who goes 24/7 wake is taking a big chance. So many of them out there. Karkand is hard too. I like my DV

I always like Songhua myself. FF on would be a nice touch. You can always reduce the size of the map if you think people don't want to play certain ones (i.e. 32 sized Zatar for 50-64 people will make it end sooner).
