Something about this doesn't seem right, but I certainly won't complain

I just want to know if this sounds right to anyone else.

I've always played BF2 on low graphics settings. I still was saddled with a rather high avg ping each and every game I played. Recently I purchased a new video card (PC specs will follow post) but I never turned up my graphics settings.

Anyway, today I needed to get my GUID, and I noticed that there was absolutely no way that I could read the font on the console, it was blurry and fuzzy. So I bumped by graphics settings up to high and lowered the screen resolution.

All of a sudden, I had a normal ping of something like 40-45

Is it the high graphics settings (maybe something to do with my new card) or the screen resolution that has given me this most wonderful gift that I wasn't looking for???

Oh yea, between high graphics settings and a smaller resolution I was able to fix my original problem of not being able to read my GUID.

PC Specs:
Pentium IV 3.2 ghz
1gb (2x512) DDR2 PC-5300 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT 512mb PCI-e video card

go into your nvidia control panel and enable Z-Buffer, 24-bit support and all the other optimal settings.

To make the console crystal clear set bf2's resoultion as your desktop res

That's the way it was originally. Both the game and my desktop were set the same. Lowering the resolution in game cleared it up.
