New Awards?

If EA were ever to expand the range of awards available which ones would you like to see introduced? (probably unlikely.....)

And how would it work? If someone had allready met the requirements when the award was released, would they get it straight away or should they have to work for it?

I'm not sure how it would be recognized, but it would be nice to see some sort of scoring for being a squad leader that hangs back and stays alive so the squad can cap a flag.

Unfortuantley it seems like if you are doing a good job keeping yourself alive a safe distance from the flag you won't be scoring a lot of points most of the time. However your squadies that are running at the flag and getting lots of kills will score well.

But I am nit-picking.

1. Squad Leader Ribbon: Awarded to squad member (with a squad size of at least 3) who has a 10 member spawn to 1 death ratio.

2. Squad Member Ribbon: Awarded to squad member who stays in close proximity of squad leader for 20 mins.

3. Aqua Service Ribbon: Awarded for swimming for 20 seconds.

4. FPS Doug Award: Awarded to player with 10 headshots in a round

5. Close Combat Metal: Awarded to player with 100 global hrs of CqC

Also, I like BF2142's "Pins" that are awarded for Kill steaks of 5 or 10. It would be nice if BF2 would adopt the whole "pin" award system, but like we've said, none of this will ever happen. It's sad though really, because it would keep the game "alive". But that's exactly what EA doesn't want to happen.... but that's another discussion.

Well if that is in 2142 then why we need it in bf2 I like bf2's ribons and awards and what not just fine.

Although EA were mainly looking to make more money with 2142, i think that had they improved BF2 instead, this would have showed its' customers (us) that it does care and then maybe we wouldn't constantly slate them. As already mentioned, the SL and SM should reap the rewards, this way maybe people would actually play as a team and not play by themselves. Just like you see in football, one man gets you nowhere!

There's a few I'd like to see,

Firstly a Bunny award for all the Bunnies, where your head turns into a giant bunny head for 2 hours gameplay if you are acting like a bunny, get it three times and you get the expert bunny back bib with a flourescent carrot decal for all to see, I'd like a spotlight from the heavens to follow the bunny around as well but thats asking a little too much.

Maybe a runway award for the runway/carrier kids, more than 2 minutes on a runway and you turn into an air traffic controller with lit up hand wands, another flourescent uniform and no weapon except for a whistle.

i think they should do something with the best scores that u can see at the end of the round, so for like squad leader ribbons, u have to get "best squad" 10 times

Yeah thats a good point. i think players listed on most heals, cap assists etc. should get some extra points

a BIG plus 1 here. More maps and unlocks would be nice. Who cares about the ribbons and medals... yes they're fun to get but not the meat and potatoes so to speak.

However the chance of anymore maps or unlocks from EA/DICE are slim to none.
