More meat for the grinder.

My preferences are for Medic as USMC, and Medic/Sniper as MEC. A great piece of Bullet Sponge advice for newbies - don't play armour heavy or aircraft maps. Unless you get a perverse delight out of waiting to spawn...

Points harvests come in Sniper form with the claymores. Sad for many, but true. I use them at choke points, and hide elsewhere, using my ears for unwelcome guests (unless I've got that old red mist on fire tho). I prefer the MEC Dragulich [sic], as I can double as light assault and sneaky sniper. Sittin on my assets throughout a game is no fun, is it?

Medics rock for points tho, all will agree. And kudos - with Support, it's the cornerstone of any infantry victory, and gens real team playining bonhomie. Like, how often do fellow players thank you for anything?

Two questions:
1) WHat's the score with actually hitting anyone prone vs prone with the MED's bull-pup rifle? I keep chewin earth. (But not for long )
2) Much as I love the G3, what are the advantages of Assault? I only go Assault when am sick of ebing owned and want to hear a real rifle firing!
Three questions....
3) Any tips n tricks for Support? I can't hit a barn door with those basic weps.

One last thing...

Do so-called team members deserve a kicking for not passing on much needed meds n ammo when you hit the button a zillion times, standing right next to them?

One last last thing to the TK Punish ornamental flowers...

- Squad up, and don't run in front of vehicles or into kill zones with everyone shoutin 'Grenade'!

For the support gun tips, try firing single shots, or in short bursts...you will control the gun much better, and get many more kills. A lot of people swear by the base support weapons, but honestly they are some of my least favorite base weapons...you would catch me dead with an L85a1, or a g36e as medic, but you can be darn sure I will be using the PKM every single time I am support. It makes sense to use one weapon for that class, as getting its accy and how fast you can fire and keep ita accurate is much easier if you just use one weapon.

Cheers for that. I'll give it a crack next time I need a break from the RL.

Single shots? Wouldn't have occurred to me - i thought the gun was for spamming, but it makes sense. I'd like to reverse my opnion on Support as my least fave.

Question - When providing (unthanked for) covering fire, are there any tips to avoid being sniped? Or is this tactic best avoided?

I normally dont do covering fire, if I shoot it is for the purpose of killing the enemy. "covering fire" in this game just draws attention to you, and you will die.

Single shots and short burst turn the Support guns into absolute killers, although I must admit sometime in the heat of battle I just hold down the trigger, if someone walks around the corner...if someone is 10 feet from you or less, just blast away, dont use Singles.... far away, use singles/short bursts.

Hm... nice advice if you're playing for points only; then again, this seems to have been what the game was designed for at the end of the day.

There's nothing wrong with playing on Armour/Aircraft heavy servers, all you need to know is where you're most likely to meet such vehicles in the map, be smart and stay on your toes... and of course- learn to move slower, and really learn to use cover - including setting objective points to move to.

One final thing; always bear in mind the limits of your kit; and in knowing that, be aware of the kits around you- with that knowledge, you will have a better idea of where and where not to go on whatever maps, what areas you should be attending to, and what kits/team-mates should you best be sticking to/joining.

There is always room for versatility; to me, there is no 'best kit', only how 'best' you know how to use them.

Six: wise words, but do you have anything more specific? Air power is one of the few more RL features of the game - i.e. ground based troops are toast. I have to play in a cyber cafe (am a mac user :p ), so sitting waiting to respawn gets more than a little tedious.... Especially when i feel i'm giving away points for some brown-shoe used to flight sims.

And that point on points - how true. The best games are where you're playing team, by accident, and the kick-***-chew-bubblegum times roll. Otherwise it's the sad situation of seeing your side go down with 30 or so lone cubs doin diddley to help out. Makes BF2 more an intelligent shoot em up than a genuine MMORPG.

Well, my point was not just for points, "supporting fire" is a joke in this game...aim to kill people, not to distract them, and they will just kill you and move on. I have never seen supporting fire work, its just not worth it.

I actually play in a cyber cafe to, not because of lack of computer, high speed internet hasnt made it out this far yet...

Okay, in that case- I'll ask: what are you doing being in the path of an aircraft's attack so much? Thats why I say "learn to move slower", and yes- that's because going on foot is very slow, so people wanna rush and get to the action as soon as possible; unfortunately, they begin to forget that they ain't got nothing but their hide and a bit of body armour; and of course- die all too soon; and where do they die? almost ALWAYS in between getting to the action, and rarely AT the action.

Sure- a bullet from a jet's cannon rips **** up especially if all you got is skin; but letting the jet see you is the infantry's fault always. Aircraft should have better things to hit other than infantry (like things they can see with the naked eye in the sky), like vehicles and other aircrafts; bombardments serve better to blow vehicles up than individual infantry.

I love times of great teamwork too; and I play at net cafe's as well lol (unfortunately, the place I play at now denies that they have more than 1 CD key, so playing with me mates as a LOCAL squad on an online game is pretty much gone now... it's THAT much better when you're actually physically sticking together in the same room); I've had times where one of us falls- and we all turn around to clear the whole place out, just so we can cover our medic who's reviving our fallen buddy; then there are times when one of us calls out: "TANKS!", and we all scarper for cover, waiting for it to pass, or turn around- then our AT guy kicks in, as our SpecOps guy flanks the tank; most times than not, we either destroy the tank, or the tank retreats; or of course- we retreat, especially when we've taken even just 1 casualty (never smart to revive a buddy in front of a tank- especially if our buddy is the AT guy).
