    zip line and grappling hook

hey just wondering, what constitues a "useage"

say my SL throws out the zip line and I follow on HIS line, do I get credit for a use
or I throw out the zip line but get killed before I take the ride, do I get credit for the use

I was just wondering how that works for the zipline and grappling hook

there was a guy on the other night at the Insurgent Hideout, he deployed his zipline at the top of the steps, rode it to the bottom walked back up the steps and rode it over and over again the whole map till he got killed, but he only deployed it once

I think you have to shoot it multiple times not just slide down it.

That dude that just continued to slide down the already deployed one just wasted 20 minutes of his life to get an insignificant badge...I want to be him!!!

Yup, you've got to fire it (or throw it) and then use it. That constitutes usage. There are SOOOOOOO many reasons to use Zip or Grappel though that the 500 is rather easy to do with regular SF gaming. Of course since the 1.2 update, you cannot use these devices on the map Iron Gator.

Zip Lines are great for transport on I/O Warlord. It is easy to get halfway or more across the map using the Zip. Beats walking

all you have to do is deploy the grapple or zip, not actually use it with the "E" button.

because EA/dice removed it from that map.

I wondered that myself, and tested it last night. It's true! Made it a little faster to get my veteran grapple.

A little trick. Deploy your zip line and then hit "G" to pick it up again. Then redeploy, rinse and repeat. That's the easiest way to get those retarded badges.

Yes, you don't even have to be at a wall. Just throw it on the ground, hit "G" to pick it up, throw it again on the ground, rinse and repeat.

Pretty much what I did to get them. On some rounds I was actually in the mood to use the zipline and was sliding around all over the place. :)
