2GB RAM - The benefits? -

Im looking to purchase 2GB PC3200 particularly for Battlefield 2 & 2142.
I currently have 1GB RAM & I can get some pretty signifigant FPS drops during combat & in areas where the games texture intense, like on Dragon Valley map flying low over tree's & such. I can go from 65-36FPS in a split second, so im wondering if its RAM related. So are large FPS drops RAm related?

I'd really like to maintain a more consistent FPS, particularly during combat, where a low FPS can mean death.

My other specs are x800GTO 256MB, AMD 64 3200+.

So would more RAM fix lag iusses in combat & just general lag flying choppers or walking around. Just smoother in general.

Yes ram would smooth it out and give you a FPS boost

ya go for the 2 gigs, loading times are much faster too

I don't know if you would actually get a FPS boost, but it does make the game run smoother and usually stops studdering and system lag.

get 2, 1024MB's of ram not 4 512MB's or ram. if you had dual channel it would helps alots too.

I have 2X1GB OCZ Dual channel 2-3-2-5. I can run all high no stutters. But I dont since I want faster loading times although I may just cracnk it up

Go for the 2 giggs , its like a big GFX upgrade
