what would be the point?

do you mean 1 bot plus you?

just move the slider...

if you want to just run round a map on your own, create a local multiplayer server (LAN).

I'm not too familiar with coop mode, but you should be able to start the game with 1 player by loading up a map, then going into the console and typing this command:
sv.numPlayersNeededToStart 1

Thanks, i will try that console command. I just want to play against bots for now.

edit, yes it works, thanks, I'm surprised you have to use the console to do that, there's no option at the menu.

You can also put the command into one of the .con files (probably serversettings.con) so you don't need to type it every time. Probably need to make the file read-only or BF2 will overwrite it.
