Something like it. lol. I did 3 years in the Navy on AD (fired an M60 too) and then a couple of years in a Heavy Weapons company with the National Guard. Hence the 11B at the end of my screen name here and in BF2.

I'm not infantry, just ADA. Early Warning in 3/4 ADAR got to fire all kinds of weapons. M2 was awesome, M9 is point-and-click, like a mouse. M4 carbine, not full auto version, only burst. M79, which is the precursor to the M203 GL. The 203 itself. The MK19 isn't in the game, but it's pretty monstrous. M16A2, SKS (a type of AK), AT4, only one live claymore, M67 frag grenades, M249, M240B, I miss the real army. Now I'm in Space and Missile Defense and I'm lucky to go to an M16 or M9 range once every 6 months. At least no more trips to sandyland, though.

Yeah, the thumper is pretty sweet. I only got to fire that one because some SF guys showed up at a range with one. They had all kinds of crazy stuff. Our unit was disposing of extra 203 rounds, so we'd get a bigger budget next FY. One of the SF guys asked me if I wanted to pop off a few rounds with the 79 because I was on the end of the firing line. Random luck. The reason I was on the end was I got put there after the fact as part of a "crap detail" assigned to help get rid of a few dozen rounds, live and practice smoke. They always give the privates the crappy jobs, lol. If I had known how fun it was to hit a burned out bus with live 40mm grenades I would have gladly volunteered!

I've fired a few:

1. M4A1 - Fun to shoot, the fully auto mode is nice but not necessary.
2. M16 - Same as above. A real pain when your trying to dismount a vehicle.
3. M203 - Makes cool noises. Recoil isn't bad at all.
4. M249 - Not as much fun as the M240B. Recoil isn't bad for an automatic.
5. AK-47 - Not bad. It's the Glock of the rifle world, it'll shoot no matter what.
6. Browning M2 .50 Cal - Loud. Recoils enough for you to know it (depends on mount). Loud.
7. M9 Berretta - It's a 9mm. Enough said.

I think thats it. I've fired various bolt action rifles as well, and numerous handguns. I wish BF2 had an option for use an M14. That's always been one of my favorites. I've also shot the shotgun but not the specific one in the game.

I should also add i've seen Claymores detonated, frag grenades, TOW missiles and the M136 AT4.

Fired a L85A1 a few times in the real world, but only twice in BF2 and that was today. I'll have to pass comment on the realism when I up grade to this fine rifle (in game). They should put the LSW in there as well, i liked shooting that off.

The Americans probably shoot most of the weopans on a regular bases. I think they come free with every Mac meal over there!

Drove the M988 series HEMTT Tractor

Fired the
Beretta 92 (very accurate, & comfortable to fire)
M67 frag (more powerful in real life than 1 would imagine)
M16 (select fire semi/full auto) "Expert Rifle Badge"
Norinco Mac-90 (Chinese copy of AK-47 in semi) impressive firepower, never jams
11-87 (got 11 clay pidgeons out of 25 first time out)
