Problems with Geforce 7600gs

Trying to fix my brothers computer to run battlefield properly.

the game runs great but as soon as the map ends or you go to the esc menu it gets all choppy and flickery and you cant get back into the game or do anything you basicly have to close the game or restart the system.

we have tried different drivers and graphics card settings. the next option yet to try is with all the video settings to low/off.

the mobo bios is lacking.. has no graphics options

specs:

Gigabyte GA-7DXE motherboard
amd xp +2200 (1.8ghz)
2gigs of pc3200 ddr ram.
geforce 7600gs 256mb
thermaltake 500w PSU

note that we just upgraded from an ATI 9700 pro which ran the game just fine.

i dont want to have to reinstall windows xp just to fix this problem..

Did you completly remove the ati drivers? Use Driver cleaner pro and make sure there are not any ati drivers left. then reinstall the nvidia drivers for the 7600gs.

i went into safe mode, uninstalled all video drivers, used that program and got rid of everything else, restarted and installed the nvidia drivers and battlefield still has the same problem. even if i try to join a full server once i get the popup saying its full the interface goes wacko and flickers everywhere but i am able to close teh game most times.

NFS most wanted seems to work flawlessley.
im going to try some other heavy system use games such as fear and see if it works.

maybe there is some kind of tweak setting i can change in battlefield 2 config files to fix my little problem?

Have you deleted the cache for BF2?

Documents and Settings\BF2\My Documents\mods\bf2\cache delete everything in this folder & try play BF2 again.

i dont understand this.. everything works fine when i join a server the first time successfuly and then it just takes a crap when i go back to the menu. this totaly sucks. every other game seems to work fine but battlefield.

i have a 7600GS I cant think what the problem could be, mines worked fine ever since. Im gettin a replacement card though, im gettin an 8800GTS so it should be a step up.
