Yeah, just try to deploy it again. You can deploy multiple shoots during the same drop even if you lose one.

I never just hit 9 once...

I simply edited my keys config file. I used SPACE for both jump and parachute.
Now it’s so easy, I never miss.

Could you post the line you added in the config file? Would lilke to do that too man. Very handfull.

When you try to deploy a parachute near the helicopter or another object, it closes because you touched something. Simple. Just be patient and open only at the last moment...

usually something like 8ft off the ground if you can visualize

Its a common bug, even spamming the key wont get it out sometimes, it really pisses me off sometimes, and its killed me quite alot.

It was not added.
I just changed the 18th line in controls.con. This is it:
ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PIWeaponSelect9 IDFKeyboard IDKey_Space 10000 0

Remap it to space as suggested by Batausu.
It's so much easier, you don't have to look for the damn key.

iv had it happen to me a few times i wish you would only have to press 9 one time lol instead of pounding on the key t get the shoot to open

Being a skydiver and BF2 player wondered if you had tried the reserve canopy? If you can see peoples faces coming towards you and still nothing over your head i'd go for it!!:laugh:

Well never happend to me but i dont like how you have to hit the button 2-3 times for it to deploy

You dont "Have" to hit it multiple times, just hit it at the "Right" time.

I never use more than one click to deploy mine, and I building jump a lot. You have to wait until you are on the downward arc of a jump, or well clear of the plane or chopper.

I find the best results come with deploying at the last second, and it reduces my hang time too. If I want to deploy early after a bail, I count 1000 & 1 before deploying.
