  • PoE. First Release. 2004

I used to be a part of the Desert Combat team.

When BFV came out, DC'ers talked about PoE (for BF:V) in our "At Ease Soldier" (AES) forum. That's "off-topic" here.

Anyways - PoE came out (for BFV) and there was an influx of input on the DC AES forums. As the threads piled with reviews, I made a master thread (I was a mod). And it went something like this:

yep. pbf may have its flaws, but its archives go WAY back.

Interesting what a search can do.

      I've been BF'in since 2001.

DC never did anything with BFV. PoE was the DC of BFV pretty much.

Then again, BFV never really took off like bf1942. Relative to the player count, PoE did pretty good. I loved the mod. It made BFV kinda fun. But the first release lacked something that is still there in PoE2..........intricate maps.

Then again, DC never had intricate maps until Basrahs edge and Sea Rigs. Iggy be praised. (i think someone else did sea rigs. crap i can't remember. praise them too )
