Additional Commands in BF2

Since recently (Today actually) I found this file in the same directory as usersettings.con

(Harddrive name):\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Settings

After altering my commands back to normal after having problems with the Interpolation time etc. (See Tweakguides for the Usersettings.con file theory.)

So I saw there was a Aliasedcommands.con file which I'm messing with right now (Trying commands out in game.)

Just thought I shared. Maybe it's already known I guess so.

The file contains commands like this:

rem - Client 'Toggle' settings:

alias fps console.showfps
alias hud game.usehud
alias oldtext chat.oldChatListStyle

rem - Client Settings

alias name game.changePlayerName
alias textsizes chat.setChatHistory
alias killtext chat.killMessageSize
alias flagtext chat.gameInfoMessageSize
alias chattext chat.chatMessageSize
alias oldtextsize chat.oldChatListHistory

It's a shame that Battlefield 2 you can't bind commands etc. in

Didn't really worked out. Though I would like to change the size of the chat-messages but don't know if it's possible.

something i've always wondered about, but never really found anything on, is how to keep actual typed chat on screen longer/more noticeable (larger font might be cool enough) and somehow either remove or diminish the voice comm associated text spam.

if anyone could point me in the right direction or figure that out, that would be amazing! i always thought chat was so overlooked in this game because of it's poor design in this regards.

I know shout casters increase the text size in-game so when they shout cast matches the audience can see the names better.

I think thats done in the localizations. the bf2 aliases dont work. I think they are left over from BFV where they did work. :|:

I just want to be able to read more of the console
is there a way to scroll the console to see all of the in-game messages, I cant get it to work, if I could I wouldnt need to resize the text

yes.. use pageUp / pageDown in the console.

ahh i didnt know there were any netcode settings in bf2. now i can interp people that do the gay rolling dive trick


*edit* can i bind these settings to a key? or execute a config file whilst bf2 is loaded? :

make sure scroll lock is off
