i have just downloaded bf2 editor but have no idea how to use it, can anyone help me??????

I also got a problem like that...
I can't use it!
Probaly cuse I have installed BF2 in swedish and the directory is C:/Program/EA Games/Battlefiled 2/ instead of C:/Program Filess/EA Games/Battlefield 2/

go to your bf2 folder and open the icon for bf2editor
it doesnt have a shortcut if i recall, you can right click and make one.


once it opens (give it time)
choose the mod you want (anything but bf2 is probably buggy)
then choose the tool you want to use in the top left, terrain and level editor is probably what your looking for.

I've tried this on another titel, but here it is again:

I'm having a texture problem too...
But mine is worse
When I paint the terrain in BF2ModEditor Everything seems allright,
but when I play the map, The ground is black and only in the distance there's some bright field...
And when I get to those places, It turns dark too...
The shadow isn't correctly adjusted, but it can't go that far, now can it??

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!

BF2 EDITR SUCKS. why does it suck because it take so long to load and it takes so much knowledge to use it it's stupid. look if you want to changed something do it by hand learn that way.

It aint that hard.... + modding aint easy.

thou the coding part of it is pretty crappy hehe. but coding should be done mostly by hand anyways.

Gunman, make sure when you are painting that you lay down both a color and a detail texture. When you have the paint brush tool, go on the right side and select "Both" - assuming you know how to add a detail texture in the layer via the Tweaker. Alright, then be sure to click Set Lowdetail Texture over there too - the editor comes with one by default - and Apply it. This will make the textures look a lot better. Finally, Compile Lightmaps for the terrain on Medium to start with. Your black problem should now go away.
