    Geforce 7800gt

    Simple question: Where can I get a Nvidia Geforce 7800gt as cheaply as possible? This excludes ebay and places like that. Also I live in the UK.

    P.S I havn't done anything like this before so be kind

    P.P.S If someone could find where to get a cheap 1gig stick of ram ...

    I go here, but i cannot see any 7800GT's but the prices for this place are cheap as chips ne way.

      Thanks! However I cant Identify what type of RAM i need. I have a compaq presario 061 and the system model is EC531AA-ABU SR1539UK GB530, if it helps.

      Anyone?

        You shouldnt go for a 7800GT they are older and too expensive for their performance. You should go for a 7900GT, which is only a little more than a 7800GT and has 4 more Pixel Pipelines. 7900 GT(link)

          So If I get a 7900GT then is it likely I would need to upgrade anything more than if I get a 7800?

          Also when I looked it up on ebuyer there where two kinds of the card MSI and an XFX. Whats the difference?

            7800GT isn't being produced anymore. The best bang for buck at the moment seems to be the 7900GTO though there aren't to many of them about. The core runs at GTX speeds but the memory is clocked slightly slower.

            As for your memory requirements go to this site and run the system scanner and it will tell you the type of memory you need.

              but an 8800GTS. dx10 compatible and has like 648MB VRAM. badass better than the 7800

                well maybe he doesnt have the money for an 8800, and maybe her doesnt have enough PSU either.
