Mercs 8 icon probs

Hope this is the right place to ask...

I installed Mercs 8 and tried playing it offline and online. However, when i join the game all the icons for weapons, vehicle HUDs and player HUD's seem to be incorrect. EG When i am flying an American jet, there will be Russian writing displayed in the HUD and the target will be the wrong shape, its the one from the MEC's tank i think!

Is this a known bug and can anyone help. I love this mod but the problem makes it unplayable.

EDIT: I have the latest patch installed for BF2 and mercs as well.

Hey guys, neewbie here....
After played the allied intent mod for a time, i heard about the merc. mod...i played the 8.0, and indeed, the icon problems are not really fun.
I dwnloaded the merc 9.0, cleaned everthing, installed it from a clean start, installed all the mappacks...But now, if i play coop, online/offline it crashes after aprox 4 min. everytime. Everyone of my co-gamers, who updated from merc 8.0 to merc9.0 has the same prob. please send some help.. i checked the merc forum site...didnt find a answer....
