Re: Armored Fury/Euro Forces in stores now.

well honestly im not real happy with this game still,
so i dont think ill purchase those boosters yet..

not to mention special forces i hear was the best out of all of them and i dident think it was that great, but i did buy it and play it for a verry long time...

if those expansions are not as good i probably will have to pass..
form what i understand those expansions dont even give regular bf2 extra unlocks to play with..

only on the expansion they do which i think is retarded anyway becase ea should have done cross compatible weapons meening you can actualy unlock all weapons and play them on any map...

like having the grapeling hook on battle of karkand,

or for instance the chineese sniper rifle on american playing battle of karkand...

or the ak47 that is the mecs version on the americans...

not to mention the mixing of kits like having a sniper rifle and medpacks..

the way it is now people see the sniper has a sniper kit and knows he cant do anything clsoe range so thats an easy kill for someone with a ak47 at close range...

anyway im rambeling here but they could have done alot more but they did not ..
    why?
    who knows...
sry for all the xrta info and negativity i know this is not what its about soliders..

As soon as I get money again that i wont be spending on the ol beer Ill go pick it up at an english PC game store in Tokyo.

The funny thing was, was that when I went to go pick up 2142 (which I dont even play it is so crap) they had japanese versions of AF and EF. I hope they have english copy there.

Re: Armored Fury/Euro Forces in stores now.

You know, EF is missing one thing...more than three maps. There are two maps, but each are so different, that they appeal to pretty much two general groups, infanty players and Classic Battlefield players (players that like open battles and armor/air mix). So, you pretty much are going to be buying it for one map. I love Operation Smoke Screen. That to me is getting up there to Oman in feel and layout. Great Wall, well, that is completely its own map and can hardly be compared to anything else.

As mentioned earlier, and if any of you spent time in the EuroForces section of this forum, you would see where people would love to see the weapons from Euroforces to be available in vanilla Battlefield play (the same way SF has it for unlocks). To compound on that, it is often the biggest headache to EF players that you do not have the grapple hook from SF. That could have been the most important item available to any player in the general BF community. It is a pity that we have never seen a massive engine overhaul for BF2 that will allow 40+ unlocks that available in 2142.

AF, well that is a good expansion. I guess both expansions have a black horse among the two and Midnight Sun seems to be least played. It is sad because that map right there really breaks so much ground for battlefield. If you could take the night features of that map and put it into Sharqi, OMG! you would have a million 24/7 Sharqi Nights servers show up!

AF though is a well rounded product and if you are a classic BF player, that loves the vehicles and was not a strong advocate of the IO movement, then you will feel at home. The textures and maps are excellent. You could see that DiCE Canada was really learning how to get things right for map making before they closed. Albeit, all the textures and map features might have come from Sweden.

I do hope some people get it and stick with it. It will suck for the first few months with everyone all trying to switch to the Euro Team to get their little blue medal and fly the Typhoon (from what I have heard a J-10/F-18 clone).
