Coming back to BF2 after a short recess...

...well, I hadn't played any BF2 in about 9 months or so....maybe more...and now, I have reinstalled, and am about to get back to playing, but I've been reading up on these forums and elsewhere, and seeing several different mods for BF2......and I have a couple questions since I've searched but cannot find all my answers:

1. Can the MODs be installed and played without affecting vanilla BF2?

2. I see references to vBF2, and have come to understand it as "vanilla BF2", is this correct?

3. Is there a list of MODs and their descriptions in one easy to read/concise location? If not, can someone give me a "cliff notes" version of each of the MODs?

Thank you Scinto.

Any suggestions for a MOD (or two) and why? (question for you or anyone else out there)......and let me further explain where I am going with this: despite it's short comings, I absolutely love Joint Ops as a game....partly because I could actually fly the helicopters and partly because it forced people to try and use some semblance of actual teamwork...and I find that enjoyable as I used to shuttle people into battlezones and get support points for their kills.....when BF2 came out, I always felt it came just SHORT of the glory I had with Joint Ops....so I played for a while, but then fell out of love with it......but now, I hear of all these MODs for BF2 and yearn for the fun TEAMWORK aspect of the game, as well as the ability to not have to be some super-human-reflex-having sniper or pistol/shotty master.....my reflexes aren't what they used to be and I've always been a 'support" role person anyways...

So anyways...yeah, that's as "brief" as I can be in explaining why I ask....thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any assistance/suggestions/opinions you have.

Point of Exsistance 2 & Project Reality Mini Mod seem to be the popular ones,

couldnt really give you explanation on them,

PoE2 i did like it was like a hole new game of bf2 the variety of vehicles and some of the unique weapons that where hidden around the maps.

PRMM0.4 not quite so fond of the kits having variations of the G3 didnt tickle my fancy, some of the new game modes are quite confusing. i never really had the patience to stick around and play all the maps but the 1st few were mostly infantry based and quite some fun.

I like the sandbox and battleracer mod but sandbox for me is getting a little old so I went to Rising Conflicts :)
