Why wont EA Advertise its patch!

I really am getting sick and tired of the crap that EA pulls every patch, Half the BF2 Community still is running the 1.4 patch and have no clue that a new patch is out. You would think that they would actually put there file up on fileplanet, and when you log into the game instead of seeing the gay 2142 advertisment mybe they should put that a new patch has been released!

Just goes to show how much ea and dice suck, some idiot must have said "hey lets release the patch before a major holiday so we dont have time to do it right, we can all leave early this week and finish all the other work next week if we feel like it."

it's worse for the mod makers who have to postpone releases or rush out patches to ensure their work works each time DICE release a suprise

OMG i started up BF2 and there was an AD for the patch and in the background there was another AD for bf2142! It was hilarious. Either it was funny or its just the beer talking. Its 10pm where i am.

A while back, I installed BF2 with NO patches. I got busy in RL and forgot to patch. Launched the game, and saw servers, and was able to play. C4 chucking, fish flopping and all. And the server was ranked. go figure.....

Yea, the server was ranked! I only played 2 games til I realized how much it sucked, then I patched up to 1.3.

Ok, I was under the impression that 1.41 is a client patch that´s no mandatory, e.g. you can install it if you´d like to fix that very rare crash bug, or you stay with 1.4 and everything stays to work.
Is that right or wrong?

Im aware of the new patch, I just won`t install it cause of PRM
I think most of the people know about the new patch, they just can`t be bothered to DL it or don`t want to install if for some reason. Advertising it would be pointless

No, after 1.41, I slowly lost access (over about a week) to all my favorite servers until I installed it. Now they are almost all back, with the exception of a couple that I know have not yet done the patch.

I thought DICE was creating some kind of community where the MODS & DEVS discuss with DICE regarding upcoming patches so the dev's of the mods don't have to worry about this issue?

They finally today released a message when you log in to download the patch, geez i guess 5 days later doesnt seem like a long time to them.....
