Not sure where to post this or even if I should but I'm very frustrated and want to warn other decent BF2ers about the server I just been on.
I just got kicked from the ExA (Executive Assassins Clan) server for mutinying the 13 year old commander because he couldn’t command and was clearly just point whoring. He was too busy claymore killing and raking up kills to be bothered doing his job so I mutinied as I felt the team was losing because of his neglect of his role. To my amazement I was told he “knew what he was doing" and that "so im only 13" then kicked.
Might sound like a case of sour grapes and to be honest it probably is a little, but I'm really tired of this kind of thing and its ruining the community. I have my own server and prefer to play there because of idiots and two-bit clans like these guys. However sometimes there aren’t enough numbers available on our server so I find myself without an alternative than gambling on other servers.
I'm also a busy guy, I got a teaching job, a family, friends and a new baby son. I don’t have much time to game and when I do get the odd few minutes I don’t like to waste it loading and reloading on countless servers run by ignorant and jumped up little pricks on an admin power trip.
Surely something can be done to regulate servers better. I appreciate that servers are ought and paid for by customers and they have every right to do what they wish with them and reserve the rights to apply their own rules, but come on, these kids take it too far! Maybe if they want to go mad and micro manage and abuse their powers they shouldn’t be running public servers
Am I the only one who thinks that there should be better regulations on public servers?
Would it be difficult to have a standard set of public serer guidelines to put an end to micro-managed public servers? After all, players & servers are already regulated (all be it not well enough standard, but that’s another issue) to some extent to keep them inline with the EA service agreement.
I’m resigned to the fact that this will never happen though, not as long as I have a hole in my arse anyway. Anyway in the meant time I suggest avoiding the ExA public server unless you don’t mind 13 year old admins with itchy admin fingers.
