Im talking about jets. I get dissappointed when i shoot high ranking pilots down easily. Sometimes a plane is going 120 degrees towards me, i fire a missile and it hits. Sometimes i fire a missile at a plane directly in front of me and it goes through/deflects off of the plane. It just doesn't seem like it takes skill to dogfight properly. it seems as if missiles hit "when they feel like it". I don't really mind the j-10 imbalance. Take for example, a game like ace combat. You gotta be alert at all times and it takes extensive practice to be able to dodge missiles effectively. They are consistent. Don't get me wrong, battlefield 2 is a great game and this is probably my first complaining post. it's just a dissapointment to me and i was wondering if other people thought the same way... If the dogfighting was a bit like ace combats, there would be actual pros, cuz face it or not, anyone has the potential to down a battlefield 2 ace.

LOL, nice.Originally posted by DesertFoxAnyone has the potentional? When is the last time you tryed to down colony2142 :p
I might get flamed for saying this, but I am happy about the missile changes they made for the most part; yes, it now makes it possible for people with little or no skill to down experienced aviators with the random shot, but I think more than anything, it forces anyone who is flying (regardless of skill) to keep alert and to play smart so as not to get locked up by a missile you may or may not be able to avoid.
I remember back in the 1.12 days (or whatever it was) when a good pilot would NEVER be brought down in a match because nothing would ever touch him; with practically no effort at all, he could just fly around attacking with barely any cause for concern at any threat because missiles just wouldn't hit him if he pulled the right manuever; the playing field has now been leveled and makes the game more enjoyable to anyone on the ground (and should also make it more interesting for the pilots who, like I said, now have to watch what they do otherwise they are going to get shot down if they get sloppy)
Sure, there are times when I get hit when I damn well should not have with the evasive measures I was pulling and it can be frustrating, but it keeps me sharp and keeps it challenging.Comment

I love it when you're in the f35 and a random missile out of nowhere hits you down to 1/3rd HP.Comment

Yeah, I have to agree. It is pretty even up there when it comes to missile play. If you can get a spread off without flare interference, it's a pretty safe bet you'll get the kill on anyone.
Only real exception is the J-10, which in the hands of anyone capable of doing a split-S or loop, is gonna be almost untouchable if they're paying attention. You've got maybe 3 seconds to get a missile lock and shot off, and then he's gone. You can't maneuver with them in anything but another J-10.Comment

You haven't been victimized by random missile fire, until you've knocked down a F18, and had the other 3 missiles fly past and manage to lock onto your team's attack helicopter.Comment

Most pilots who fly the J10s become dependant on them and never improve. I see many multi-star general that only fly the J10s. They just go in circles and hope to out turn someone. Fly by view is where its at to combat J10s. Ping them with your radar and get them to drop flairs. Figure out which plane they're going to loop on and take an alternate plane. Do your own loop but time it using fly by view so you get a second shot on their broadside. As long as you come in with a steep angle of attack you're mostly guarenteed hits with your missles.
I was playing on Wake two days ago and some random chinese player was convinced I had some magical hack because I could shoot them down while they're flying in loops. By the end of the round half the chinese players were screaming out hack hack hack.
They think they're invincible while doing loops; use their ego against them!
