Enjoy the game. There's a steep learning curve, at least there was for me, but like Alpha said forget about kdr ratios and play for the fun of it.

indeed Nimbob.. so true.. the game is really fun for me. I enjoy trying to achieve the objectives of the games.
As for learning I am getting there, learning something new everyday, when I see the higher rank guys running around, I usually follow them.. just to get an idea of how they do what they do, and their style of tactics also. I noticed I kept getting caught out there every now and again by a guy with a f2000.. I don't know what type of gun that is.. and also a G3 or M3 or soemthing like that.. when I get into gun battles with these guys, it seems like their firearms are way more accurate in close quaters gun battle.
So when I get this unlock, which is coming soon as I am at 380 points. Do I get to select the two weapons I want to unlock, or does the game give me two weapons... ?

i just signed up for xfire, so anyone that wants to chat or play sometime.. give me a shout ...
or save me as a friend... I am always willing to do a team play to...

when people experiance being near a computer playing a game for 16hrs of the day they will understand :p i have before but it wasnt BF2, it was a web browser game (lots of text/numbers & no pictoral graphics)

I love the F2000. Its a Special Forces unlock. Ever since I've gotten it, I've been cleaning up as assualt.

The G3 is a really powerful gun, but only carries 20 shots and isnt very accurate at a distance. Close quarters, it's really really good though. The G3 will probably be your first unlock, because from memory, after your first promotion, you can only select this one.

I wish EA?DICE read threads like this, so they can see that maintenance on this game is still worth the effort with new people still coming into the game after a year.

BF2 is pretty much all about the points until you have all or just the unlocks you want, after that its all about winning and having fun. just remember though, if someone calls you a noob for using your unlocks ignore them. some people or clans call people noobs for using their unlocks. they say people have no skill if they use them, but screw them. i use my unlocks because i like them and i pretty much bought the special forces expansion just to have the extra unlocks.
