If companies in non computer game retail did this, they would be mauled to death, by the media, the consumer and the relevant government department (Office of Fair-trading here).

hahaha, I got the same thing when I complained about the browser 'fake' pings, a humongously long reply made with cut and pasted generalistic gash just like that.

And of course the info didnt sort the problem, its something that needs patching, I just wanted to know if/when the fix was coming.
