idea for squad leaders

i had this idea....i think its pretty good.....

i kno bug fixes should be addressed first, and EA prolly wont come out with another patch, and definately wont consider this idea....i guess this could be implimented in a mod maybe....

the idea is that squad leaders should be able to give seperate orders to each squad member as well as the whole squad.....by clicking on their name, and setting the order on the map....seems simple enough right?

as far as iknow, there is no way to do this....

what u ppl think?

Yeah I see what you mean and it would be useful. But come on, who would actually follow those orders? There's often been times on Karkand as USMC where I run round to Train Accident and my entire squad follow. It's always a good idea to separate and some go to gatehouse, so seperate orders would be useful.

yeah, and i like to order a medic to hang back and cover us and revive us if we need...or have one guy wait with me as the others clear the area.....

Problem is though, when do you get a squad working in such harmony? It's a very rare sight, but when it happens, and you have a good commander, the game is bliss.

You could divide the squad and be the commander... Or use VOIP.

It could be done, but noone would listen anyway. I could be the top scorer on the board on my team, with the winning squad, but still people don't clue in that I might know what I'm doing, and they still go about their own thing anyway.

Yeah, as long as you can describe what you want them to do.

Like mentioned above, it all comes down to people listening. I find that as a squad leader, about 1/2 the people in the squad listen when I'm using VOIP. People care too much about getting points then working as a team, and sorry to say, it's usually the high rankers in the squad who don't listen... they just jump in for a close spawn point.

AFAIK theres certain things mods cant schange unless EA releases the code. Dont quote me but I think this is one of them.

VOIP, yes. Click-o-logy, no. One thing I miss when giving orders to squadmates is context sensitive orders from bf2142.

Yeah, mutiny has always been a great motivator in building great armies throughout history. :/

If you don't like what your squad leader is doing, leave it and join another squad, or make your own and show everyone how it's done.

The most annoying thing to leaders in the game, and in real life, in any field, is some subordinate second-guessing everything they do. If you can think you can do better, then go start your own business, your own company, your own army, etc. Otherwise, do what they say you might actually learn something and come out ahead.
