    Single Player Infantry Only

For practice purposes I have been trying to setup a single player game infantry only in either FFolkes or the regular unmodified program. Had thought that I might try to do this through the console and in doing so discoverd that my "~" key won't open the console. So now I have two questions (1) How, if at all, can one set up a single player with or without using the console and (2) how for any other purposes does one gain access to the console. Any help most appreciated.

    Platform:

Pentium P4 3.2; 1 gig ram; ATI 9600 and Audigy Sound System

The console is not very useful.
Mostly I use to quit fast.

If your ~ doesn't open the console you should check your key bindings. You probably reassigned ~ to something else. If you don't see it in the BF2 controls interface, take a look at the controls.con file in your profile folder in My Documents.

I don't think IO option appears in co-op mode.

hmm...maybe it's you who needs to read the whole paragraph. He can't open his console using the tilde...

What jdrou said was a good suggestion.

As for using the tilde to set up your game, you are better off editing the ServerSettings.con file found in your "Default" Profile directory. Make changes to it, save, then make read-only.
