In the right hands it is the answer to enemy armor camping our troops "unchecked" on city maps, is 3x more effective than artillary for supporting our troops as an artillary piece, & is the best way to take flags from 'nade spammin' opponents if you aren't afraid to die in your tank once in a while from AT or spec-op, but if they do "load up" on spec-op, & AT they are more vulnerable to your support, & assault troops, & the net effect is positive for you team

In my most very humble of opinions

As a tanker turned infantryman I know there are few sights sweeter when playing infantry than witnessing your "tanker" SEEKING OUT, & DESTROYING ENEMY ARMOR, then fighting side by side w/ the you, advancing w/ you methodically, supporting you w/ direct fire, even sacrificing his tank to turn a hotly contested flag white to stop the enemy from respawning to give you the time you need to over run critical cp, or to take there main early, & end the the rain of artillary

Tanks where invented in WW1 to break infantry stalemates, not as mobile armored sniping bunkers LOL

While I like gold medals as much as anybody, the appreciation of my infantry buddies on TS was what made me the happiest

ps. When a player utilzes the tank this way, it is not uncommen for infantry to go engineer, & follow you on foot trying to keep you repaired, or if a guy that doen't really like tanks captures 1 from the enemy he will give it to you before any 1 else, also unselfish play in armor will quickly make you the #1 priority for supply boxes from your commander, & make other players more inclined to "back you up" in thin skinned APC's

This level of comaraderie, & teamwork is not really possible, in a jet, & much harder to achieve in a chopper in the close ground support role

I like the tanks but with the way most people play, I'd rather be in the air avoiding constant tk's and the usual bs involved.

When I'm on a server with compotent players I will ground pound and take up the role in armor it's just not often I'm in a like that server.

A 9 yr. old (& he's1337) @ the wheel of a 70 ton armored vehicle, w/ a 120mm smoothbore @ his disposal, what could possibly go wrong?

That and admins kicking because its "their" tank or you have the guys that line up and tk waiting on it to spawn.

If not that you have the wonderful suicide squads that jump on the tank or lay infront of it racking up tks on you so you'll get kicked and they can get the tank, it's total crap.

Half the time when these people finally do get the armor it goes to waste they in no way use it to benefit their team, they basicaly sit and camp with it like you mentioned. Usually ending up victimized by AT units. Since they're out in clear view somewhere on a hill side trying to land shots at 1 or 2 infantry guys that are no where near a cap point while their own team is being slaughtered by enemy armor.

Exactly, abusive admins getting tanks is one of the biggest problems I have on some servers, or admins kicking for jets, helis, etc. The worst one I ever saw, was on Wake Island. He kicked a guy that got in the J-10, then got in, and proceeded to to go about 15-6 in it, the entire round...and everytime he died in it, if anyone got in ahead of them...kick.

I've only been kicked once for a jet. I rejoined and earned a ban since I flew the other J10 into the admins. By accident of course.

Lol, abusive admins are funny. On most 24/7 Wake servers, I normally wont even try and get in the jet if FF is on, as either I will be sniped out, or get 7 forced tks if I try and take off.

Backup, get on the slope and take off from there, usually you won't get any tks.

Thanks for the tips, but I actually dont play much Wake anymore, but if I do I will give it a try.

DVP all the way theres nothing like cruising round the air field on wake running over all the snipers and all the people waiting for Jets and Heli's :p

Thanks for the tips, but I actually dont play much Wake anymore, but if I do I will give it a try.

I don't either, working more on infantry right now. Jets are fun but they get old after awhile. Wake is the only jet map I am partial to though because of it's design.

Just make sure you run the throttle up right as you hit the drop of the hill or you'll hit the water and explode. May wanna try it a few times in single player first.
