Im new to mapping and dont know much about it. How do I make Terrain.

making a terrian is pretty easy. im assuming your not dumb so start up a mod. get in editor make sure your on terrain mode. first off go to render and make sure your under detail texture mode your terrain should look like a grid. alrite now if you want to make hills and stuff go to the bar that has the arrows,trees and junk. should be on your right. click the first one if you want to add hills and valleys its simple left click makes hills and right click makes uh holes. you can mess with the strength and stuff till you get the size you want. now to add color to your terrian. click on the paintbrush and look in the resource bar for something called layers. click it and start a new layer. after click layer one your tweak bar should spring to life. now the first thing on top is detail texture click it and choose what you want. under that is color texture do the same for that. then go down to material you might not can see it all the way so drag it open some and click that and choose the material you want to hear when you step on this terrian. then go down to the bottom of the tweaker and find lowdetialtype and change it from 0 to 1.ok now to paint this on. look on your right in the paint options. scroll down till you see where it says paint mode. here click both. then just start painting on. -
